Mr. Jackson Rockingster is President and CEO of  HABNET — HAITIAN AMERICAN BUSINESS NETWORK which was established as a Division of HAAPA in 2004.  In 2008 HABNET became a Chamber of Commerce, and in 2009 became a separate entity from HAAPA, currently known as HAAPA-PAC.  Mr.  Rockingster also does Consulting for a very selected clientele rendering such services as Business Formation and Dissolution, Grant Writing, Tax Preparation, Credit Repair and PAC Formation and Filings.  From 2003 to 2007, Mr. Rockingster served as President of the L.E.E.F.T. Investment Club, associated with the National Association of Investors Corporation.  Mr. Rockingster is a Community Activist, an Educator and a Financial Professional.   He holds a B.B.A. in Finance & Investments and a B.A. in History from Baruch College, a triple Master’s degree in History, Social Science and Educational Administration from New York University.  Mr. Rockingster is a Certified School Administrator and Supervisor and a Certified School District Administrator.  He also attained such professional designations as the NASD Registered Representative Series 7 and 63 Licenses and the New York State Insurance Agent/Broker License.  Mr. Rockingster serves as Vice-Chair of the Flatbush-Nostrand Junction Business Improvement District, serves on the Board of the Flatbush YMCA,  and is a County Committee Member of the 42nd Assembly District.


In the aftermath of the earthquake that devastated Haiti on January 12, 2010, Mr. Rockingster has expanded HABNET’s services beyond providing financial literacy and business education.  Mr. Rockingster has partnered with Councilmember Jumaane Williams forming the 45th District Haitian Relief Effort.  Currently, HABNET’s services also include coordinating the relief effort in the 45th District.  Namely, establishing TPS Clinic sites, providing information and referrals about how to petition for a relative and other immigration issues, providing referrals for bereavement counseling and other services, building a database of volunteers, coordinating and providing translation services.  As of May 23, 2010 the 45th District Haitian Relief Effort became a mobile clinic that provides comprehensive services to constituents including TPS Services, Immigration Services, Social Services, Voter Registration, Financial Literacy and most recently, Medical Services and Health Insurance Services.
