M/WBE Application

M/WBE is an acronym for Minority/Women-owned Business Enterprise. Business leaders with these Certifications are qualified to do business with New York City and New York State. We encourage small business owners to take the preliminary steps to obtain certification. Therefore, we conduct the M/WBE Application Assistance Workshops on the first Wednesday of every month at no cost to participants.

Feel free to print the form using the printer icon on the screen below. Fill it out manually and send to NYC Department of Small Business Services, Division of Economic and Financial Opportunity 110 William Street New York, NY 10038 or apply online by clicking here. Thank you.

Merchant Organizing

merchant flyer smallMerchant Organizing & BID Formation is a service that we began offering in FY 2016 when Councilmember Jumaane D. Williams allocated funds to HABNET Chamber of Commerce for the purpose of organizing a Merchant Association on Nostrand Avenue from Farragut Rd to Snyder Ave.   This initiative is new and still in progress.

There are many benefits to having a  Merchant  Association, including:

● Civic engagement allows merchants to join forces

● Networking opportunities to share information and resources

● Collaboration among merchants to improve the commercial corridor

● Speaking with one voice to officials & city agencies about needs and concerns

Credit Repair

It is estimated that over 70% of consumers have a discrepancy on their credit report (Experian, Equifax, Transunion). This discrepancy may make the difference between whether a requested loan for a car, a home and for other valuable goods and services, gets approved at a high or low interest rate, if at all. Since we promote collective and individual economic empowerment in our community, credit repair service is offered to our members and the general public. How to establish and maintain good credit is one of the many programs of financial literacy that we offer to the community and it is fundamental to financial independence.
