Young Entrepreneur Citizen Program (YECP)

Youth

A combination of financial literacy, workforce development, civic education, entrepreneurship, and mentorship.  The program is  designed to harness the leadership, technological, communication and interpersonal skills of young people and simultaneously prepare them as the next generation of civic-minded entrepreneurs.

Workforce Development & Job Placement

 A program that trains people to Work in a  Specific field and/or company, usually that of a HABNET member. The first phase of the  program involves training at HABNET. The second phase of the program is placement based on the participants" interest, which is s matched with a prospective employer

Financial Literacy/Business Education and Support Services

 Literacy

The bi-monthly Business Education and Financial Literary sessions for members and the community.  Featuring sessions such as "Entrepreneurial Boot Camp" and "Teachings of Best Practices to Running a Small Business" As well as M/WBE Application Assistance; Business Plan Assistance, Business Financing Assistance and more.

The Toussaint Louverture Symposium, Small Business Expo and Awards

A program organized by HABNET every year since 2005. It is an educational, cultural and recreational program held every April that involves discussions about the historical achievements of Toussaint Louverture and his impact on the United States. The program promotes cultural pride and creates cultural understanding between the people of the United States and Haiti by emphasizing the historical relationship between the two countries. It is also a celebration of the co-naming of Nostrand Avenue to Toussaint Louverture Blvd. Finally, it is recognition of business leaders and others who exhibit the Louverturian principle emphasizing the importance of civics and economics. During the Symposium, vendors are afforded the opportunity to network with participants and showcase their goods and services.

Neighborhood Development Initiative

A program that help meet the need for neighborhood-level economic development, specifically Merchant Organizing and Business Improvement District Formation.

Women Entrepreneurs and Executives @HABNET

A program that provides business education, M/WBE application assistance and support services for women entrepreneurs and executives. HABNET hosts quarterly Forums that empower women with best practices, opportunities for mentorship and a platform to network and build.

Young Entrepreneur Citizen Program
