HABNET KREYOL BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION
In the fall of 2014 HABNET partnered with the Brooklyn Public Library to introduce the Power Up! Kreyol Business Plan Competition. The program was funded by the NYC Department of Small Business Services Immigrant Business Initiative. This program targeted current and aspiring entrepreneurs of Haitian ancestry who wanted to learn how to write a business plan. Participants attended classes and met with a business counselor in order to write their business plan. The Program afforded participants the opportunity to turn their business ideas into reality and win a Cash Award of up to $5,000 in startup capital.
The Brooklyn Public Library recently ended the Power Up! Kreyol Business Plan Competition. Nonetheless, we are continuing this program as the HABNET Kreyol Business Plan Competition. The first prize is $5,000 the second prize is $2,500 and the third prize is $1,000.
