Marie Edeline Hyppolitte

Marie Edeline Hyppolite was born in Port-au- Prince, Haiti and immigrated to Manhattan, New York in 1966. After a few short years, her family moved to Boston, Massachusetts where she began her matriculation as a health care professional. Marie obtained her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) diploma from Boston City Hospital of School of Nursing in 1979. Two years later she returned to New York and attended the Helene Fuld School of Nursing where she obtained her Associate Degree in Applied Nursing Science. With a fresh excitement for the field of nursing, Ms. Hyppolite decided to pursue her Baccalaureate degree in nursing and subsequently obtained her Master’s Degree in Executive Nursing and Health Care Management from Long Island University. She graduated with honors, Summa Cum Laude, in May of 2014. Over the last 15 years, Marie has worked diligently to become certified as a Lactation Counselor, Geriatric Scholar, Basic Cardiac Life Support Specialist and a board certified Ambulatory Care Nurse with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Professionally, she has served in many leadership positions, recently as the Acting Associate Executive Director of Ambulatory Care Nursing. 


Marie is currently the Associate Director for Strategic Management for Patient Care Services at Queens Hospital Center, New York. Marie is a woman of many talents and abilities. Her infectious persona, bright smile and compassion for others are some of her most admirable qualities. As a woman who has mastered the skill of effective multitasking Marie is an adjunct Professor at Long Island University’s Harriet Rothkoff Heilbrunn School of Nursing while holding membership and executive leadership positions in various organizations, both on a local and national platform. She is the current President of the Haitian American Nurses Association (HANA) of Greater New York, a member of the New York Organization of Nurse Executives (NYONE), Leadership Academy and the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing(AAACN).Marie has received several awards and recognitions, most recently, Citation of Honor for her dedication and leadership from the Queens Borough President, Melinda Katz; the Honor and Merit Award from the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (Ministere des Haitiens Vivant a L’Etranger); the Honor and Merit Award from the National Nursing School in Port-au-Prince (L’Ecole Nacionale de Port-au-Prince, L’ENIP);and the Exemplary Leadership Award from HANA of Florida. She is also an inductee to the 1804 List of Haitian-American Changemakers in the Unites States by the Haitian Roundtable in 2014. Ms. Hyppolite is a founding member of TiChapo, Incorporated, a Haitian Carnival Masquerade band based in South Florida, whose mission is to promote the rich culture of Haiti through participation in Caribbean Carnivals throughout the United States. The masqueraders of TiChapo are Haitian professionals, students, youths and adults who take part in the annual Carnival parade proudly wearing their costumes.The Miami Broward One Carnival is a celebration of diversity in the Caribbean community. It is one of the largest street festivals in Florida that attracts over one hundred thousand people every year. As an executive member of TiChapo for the past nine years, Marie has actively participated in the planning and execution of each carnival event; which has earned TiChapo numerous awards and first place titles. Marie E. Hyppolite is a tenacious woman who gracefully conquers her dreams and aspirations.
